Healing the whole person, not just the addiction. Evidence-based care, functional medicine, and trauma-informed support in a peaceful mountain setting.
Your information is private and secure. No pressure to commit.
Maple Mountain Recovery provides comprehensive addiction treatment for adults at our residential facility in Mapleton, Utah. Our programs combine evidence-based therapies like EMDR and CBT with functional medicine, innovative treatments such as ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and TMS, and holistic healing practices.
With a maximum of 16 clients at a time, we deliver deeply individualized, trauma-informed care for substance use disorders and the co-occurring conditions that drive them.
Addiction is rarely the whole story. In our experience, it is almost always a response to something deeper, whether that is unresolved trauma, chronic anxiety, depression, or physical imbalances that have gone unaddressed for years.
That is why we built Maple Mountain around one guiding principle: treat the root, not just the symptom. Our clinical team holds dual licensure in both mental health and substance use treatment, which allows us to work on addiction and its underlying causes at the same time, in the same place, with the same team.
We blend evidence-based psychotherapy, functional and integrative medicine, and experiential healing into one cohesive treatment plan. Every client receives a comprehensive medical and psychological assessment upon arrival, and their care evolves as they do.
Our clinical team treats the full spectrum of substance use disorders, with individualized care plans for each:
Alcohol
Benzodiazepines
Cannabis
Opioids
Cocaine
Barbituates
Heroin
Hallucinogens
Adderall
We treat adults 18 and older struggling with substance use and the mental health conditions that so often accompany it. Our intentionally small community of no more than 16 residential clients means care is never one-size-fits-all. We serve:
Recovery is not one-size-fits-all, and it is not a single moment. It is a progression. Our continuum of care meets you where you are and supports you through each stage of healing.
Our residential program is the heart of Maple Mountain. Clients live on-site in a serene, home-like setting at the base of the Wasatch Range, free from the distractions and triggers of daily life. Days are structured around individual therapy, group work, experiential healing, and restorative routines, with 24/7 clinical support. Residential care is ideal for those with moderate to severe substance use or those for whom outpatient treatment has not worked.
Healing does not end at discharge. Every client leaves Maple Mountain with a personalized aftercare plan, ongoing recovery resources, and a community that remains invested in their long-term success.
PHP offers the intensity of residential treatment with the flexibility of returning home each evening. Clients participate in five to six hours of daily therapy, including individual, group, and family sessions, medical care, and skill-building. It serves as a powerful step down from residential care or a step up when outpatient support is not enough.
As clients regain stability, IOP allows them to rebuild their daily lives, return to work or school, and practice recovery skills in the real world while staying closely connected to therapy and clinical support several days a week.
Maple Mountain sits in a quiet neighborhood in Mapleton, Utah, at the base of the mountain we are named for. The setting itself is part of the treatment. Mountain views, fresh air, and the stillness of the Wasatch foothills create the kind of calm that makes deep therapeutic work possible.
Inside, our facility feels less like a treatment center and more like a retreat. Clients enjoy private rooms, chef-prepared meals focused on nutritional healing, and wellness amenities, including our bio-sound lounge and dedicated spaces for yoga, art, and music therapy.
Beyond our walls, Utah becomes our therapy landscape. Hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, and other outdoor experiences are woven into treatment, helping clients reconnect with their bodies and rediscover what it feels like to be fully alive without substances.
Plenty of treatment centers say they treat the whole person. Here is what that actually looks like at Maple Mountain.
Trauma-Informed From Top to Bottom
Trauma-informed care is not a department here. It is a culture. Every member of our team, from leadership to support staff, is trained to understand how trauma lives in the body and shapes behavior.
Our clinicians specialize in trauma-focused modalities, including EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and somatic therapy, because we know that for most of our clients, addiction and trauma are two threads of the same story.
Functional Medicine and the Gut-Brain Connection
Mental health does not exist separately from physical health. Our functional medicine program uses comprehensive lab testing to uncover the biological contributors to addiction and mental illness, including inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, and gut health imbalances.
Through targeted nutritional therapy and chef-prepared meals tailored to your body’s needs, we support the gut-brain connection, which plays a powerful role in mood, cravings, and long-term recovery.
If you have tried medication after medication, or completed treatment before only to relapse, you are not out of options. We offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for clients with treatment-resistant depression and other conditions that have not responded to traditional approaches.
Combined with neurofeedback and somatic healing, these innovative therapies open doors that conventional treatment alone often cannot.
Some healing happens beyond the therapy room. Working with horses asks clients to show up with honesty, patience, and presence, and the feedback is immediate and unfiltered.
Equine therapy joins our sweat lodge ceremonies, sound baths, yoga nidra, and art and music therapy as experiential pathways for processing what words alone cannot reach.
Co-Occurring and Complex Conditions
Addiction rarely travels alone. Our dual licensure allows us to fully treat the conditions that so often accompany substance use, including complex trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and self-harm behaviors.
Rather than referring you elsewhere for mental health care, we treat everything together, because that is how lasting recovery actually happens.
Hear directly from individuals who found support and strength through our programs.

I would give Maple Mountain health and wellness 10+ stars if I could! Going there was the best thing I have ever done for myself in my whole life. I highly recommend this facility for anyone dealing with trauma. The modalities of therapy offered were life-changing. I learned many new life skills, and have tools to bring home as I continue my healing and recovery journey. I felt like I was in a safe, beautiful home with the most loving, caring, and kind staff you could ever ask for. The best part is that I made lifelong friends that I will cherish forever. The entire program is incredibly well structured, the staff and therapists are very knowledgeable and kudos to the chefs, as the food was not only nutritious, but phenomenal! Aside from the educational groups that range from group processing, yoga Nidra, sound bath, nutrition and wellness, equine and music therapy (my personal favorites) DBT, CBT, and stress management were incredibly valuable, and I learned so much from these programs. Jen was the first person I spoke with, and I knew in our conversation that this was the right place for me. I was warmly welcomed right from the beginning, and knew this journey would be healing and memorable. We also were able to have a lot of fun with the experiential activities they carefully planned for us. Special kudos to Vikki, who went out of her way to give me the care and tools for me to maintain my recovery. I am forever grateful to every single person at Maple Mountain recovery. I researched the entire country for two weeks to find this place, and it was worth that time because they deserve every rave review they get! Super highly recommended and feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Thank you so much to everyone at MMR! I will never forget you and love you all💜

Maple Mountain Mental Health and Wellness in Utah completely exceeded my expectations. From day one, their team created a highly personalized treatment plan tailored just for me—every session felt tailored to my needs.
What really sets them apart is the way they seamlessly blend healing with genuine care and enjoyable experiences. Between therapy sessions, I had options like yoga, cold plunges in nature, art therapy, acupuncture, and many therapeutic adventures. It felt like real recovery, not just treatment.
The staff is amazingly attentive—every single team member knew my name, remembered my goals, and checked in regularly to see how I was doing. They made sure I felt supported 100% of the time and built an environment that was both professional and warm.
If you’re looking for a recovery center that cares deeply, customizes your journey, and injects a dose of fun and relaxation into the process—Maple Mountain Mental Health and Wellness is it. Highly recommend!

I don’t even know where to start on beginning to describe how great this place has been for me. I came from the east coast because I was looking for a place focused on mental health, as I have several years of solid sobriety and couldn’t find anything close to me. I was drawn to MMR, and I’m so glad I listened to my intuition. My therapist Tori was amazing. Got so much from my sessions three days a week with her. All the techs are great- everyone that works here really cares and also acts like it. Brodie, Chelsea, Natalie, Brittany, Brooklyn, Cameron, Elizabeth just to name a few. I really trusted these people and felt comfortable talking to them whenever I was struggling. Vi was great with running Neurofeedback and I definitely felt a huge difference with each session. Ketamine really helped me process a lot of my trauma and shame, but definitely isn’t for everyone. The groups run by outside people are all fantastic and beneficial as well. And the food! Probably one of the best parts. You don’t have to cook at all and both Adaline and Patrick are so good at what they do. Every meal was delicious and they were cooking for so many people! If you’re contemplating things, talk to Jen in admissions and she’ll answer any of your questions. Thank you Maple Mountain for all you’ve done for me to help me heal. Will never forget this beautiful and life changing experience 🫶🏻

I showed up here because my mother new I needed help and we agreed on me staying here. I was convinced I wasn’t going to be helped, that it would be a waste of time. And I can say that this place has literally saved my life and got me back on my feet. If you are considering going anywhere this is the place. They focus on mental health first and they have a wonderful staff that you can feel the love from. Everyone that’s been here with me has also praised this place as the best rehab/Mental Health Facility they’ve been too. Couldn’t recommend it enough. I love Maple Mountain!

They have helped me work through past trauma and addiction issues. Because I have had such a good experience with their program, I will be attending the IOP program with them. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for this place!! Thank you MMR!
